Just know his backgrounds of Norway killer Anders Behring Breivik

Breivik was born in Oslo, on 13 February 1979. Breivik lived with his mother and his half sister in the west end of oslo and regularly visited his father and stepmother in France, until they divorced when he was 12. His mother also remarried, to a Norwegian army officer.
Breivik criticised both of his parents for supporting the policies of the Norwegian labor party and his mother for being a moderate feminist.
For some time Breivik worked in a customer service company.
In May 2009 he visited Prague in an attempt to buy illegal weapons. The attempt was a failure, and Breivik decided to obtain weapons through legal channels.
The simple and perhaps comforting explanation as to why people like Breivik commit such horrific acts is that they are insane.
As Seumas Milne notes in the Australian newspaper The Age (July 29, 2011) writing such people off as madmen “has the advantage of meaning no wider conclusions need to be drawn about the social context of the atrocity.”
However unhinged Breivik may later turn out to be, his actions were inspired by the ideologies of others. In his 1,500-page manifesto he cites a large number of right-wing writers who influenced his thinking.
These are all people who have expressed highly negative opinions about multiculturalism and Muslim migration into Europe. These views became the focus of Breivik’s hatred. While his actions are extreme his views are not far away from what many consider mainstream.
